I'm listening to get some insight, the last time I tried to install linux was gentoo (power user, sure!) and it took me 3 days, I still couldn't figure out some things and couldn't do it again without the walkthrough! I was a crappy one and I ended up having to finish the hole with sheet metal cutters :P.
